Yeshua is Yehovah

Introduction / Preambles

Welcome to 'I AM the Name' - an introduction to the Doctrine of Incarnation, or why is Jesus God!

Why is Jesus God? If you can easily answer this question then this book is not for you! Saying ‘Jesus is God’ but not being able to back the statement up from the Bible is of no value. This book will hopefully get you started on understanding the Doctrine of Incarnation - it is more to whet your appetite than to being insistent upon its theological accuracy – take away only what you believe is correct!

There is the opportunity to freely discuss on Twitter – look for the account @TheNameIAM .

The Bible was originally written in three language - Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. The Hebrew name for our God is 'Yehovah', and the Hebrew name for Jesus is 'Yeshua', and these will be the names used on this website.

This book and the website are in four simple sections:

  • Intro to the Hebrew name for God & Jesus
  • Intro to the 12 'titles'
  • Intro to the Codex, Nicaea Creed
  • Intro to the Emunah/Amen

Intro to the Hebrew name for God & Jesus

The Bible is split into two - Old Testament & New Testament (excluding the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha), but it is the same God that never changes!

It is important to appreciate that Jesus was a Jew, and that He did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets.

A stronger appreciation of Old Testament Judaism and New Testament Hebrew and Greek scriptures are required to help understand how today we can conclude that Jesus is God -

Jesus was not a false messiah, not a failed messiah, not a Joseph messiah, or an angelic being, or a god with a small 'g'!

Jesus is God - Yeshua is Yehovah

Intro to the 12 'titles'

  • The Alpha & Omega
  • The Creator
  • The Name
  • The King
  • The Rock
  • The Word
  • The Light
  • The Forgiver
  • The Shepherd
  • The Saviour
  • The Lamb
  • The Teacher

For each 'title' there is a brief introductory statement, followed by Bible verses that endorse the statement.

The first ten titles are attributed to God in the Old Testament, and to Jesus in the New Testament.

The penultimate title 'The Lamb' is given to Jesus only, without His sacrifice there is no salvation for anyone.

The final title 'The Teacher' is to emphasize that Jesus was a 'Didaskalos' a very important Jew, a very important teacher with authority in the temple - not a 'Tekton' a carpenter or a stonemason.

Intro to the Codex, Nicaea Creed

A brief introduction is required to show the road the scriptures took, from being a spoken word (transmitted), to writings in Hebrew/Aramaic/Greek, to being translated into English.

The Nicaea Creed - The early theological statement our forefathers made to define the commonality amongst Christians.

Intro to the Emunah/Amen

In Hebrew the word 'Emunah' has a similar spelling to the word 'Amen' but over the years the meaning has diminished. Here you will get an introduction to the Emunah with a hope that it will impact your prayer life and make it effective.
